Gratitude and Life's Lessons

“An Attitude of Gratitude” by President Thomas S. Monson is a great reminder to appreciate those people in our lives that help edifies us along our journey. President Monson’s story about his Sunday school teacher Sister Gertsch helped me understand that my actions are seen by many young people in my neighborhood and ward. By giving service to those around me I can help other people feel the love of Christ. I hope I can help the youth I associate with become better followers of Christ and citizens of our country.

When reading about the role of Entrepreneurship, I learned that the point where social needs, personal satisfaction and economic visibility meet you find a sweet spot for as successful entrepreneur business. Being successful isn't just about creating wealth, it is also about making other people's lives better. I also understand that many people want entrepreneurship as a way to become rich quickly, but for me I don't want to put riches over the success of my family. Through years of experience, I learned that you can do with or without money, as long as your basic needs are met it is more important to have good relationships with those people that are important in your life.

This week I also reflected upon finding a great job. Often in our society people want to be successful immediately without putting forth energy or effort. Social media does not help because people see what other people that are pushed and think of it as an immediate attainable goal, but life seldom works that way. As professors’ council their pupils, I think working for a large corporation and gaining an understanding how to lead in policies necessary for company to grow and develop is a great resource for any entrepreneur to experience before going out on their own.
